An event every month that begins at 1:00pm on day Third of the month, repeating until October 27, 2018
The Participant Committee is chosen by the members to give voice to the members of Sound Times at the Board and enables members to bring forward suggestions, ideas and concerns about participation at Sound Times.
The Committee meets regularly and manages the budget for activities at Sound Times. We also meet with the general membership once a month who give us feedback to report to the Board, help us decide on activities, and address issues at Sound Times.
Participant Committee continues to create informative and exciting events, including monthly BBQs with over 100 attendees; Lunch and Learns brought experts from the community including lawyers, psychiatrists, the landlord and tenant board, and more.
The Advocacy Committee members have advocated to improve rooming houses and Toronto Community Housing (TCHC); shelters, ODSP levels, and more at City Hall and in the community. Jacques Tremblay and the committee organized film screenings and discussions. The members then identified common housing issues and solutions, including greater survivor involvement.
