Gerstein Crisis Centre is seeking Volunteers to join our Board of Directors
Gerstein Crisis Centre provides 24-hour community-based services for adults in the City of Toronto who are dealing with mental health, concurrent or substance use issues and are currently in crisis. GCC offers a range of programs and services including, telephone crisis lines, mobile crisis teams, community-based crisis beds, short term follow-up support, recovery programs, and referrals to other beneficial health and social services.
Our mission is to be an accessible source of support and recovery for individuals experiencing a mental health crisis, to work collaboratively with partners to create improved access to services and to promote wellness, recovery and strong consumer survivor networks. Respect, autonomy, dignity, diversity, collaboration and accountability are at the core of all we do. We value the whole person and acknowledge and respect their needs and wishes for recovery.
Gerstein Centre is looking for volunteers for our Board of Directors, able to commit 3-5 hours per month for a minimum of one one-year term. The Board meets once a month. Currently, there are committees in the following areas: Human Resources, Fundraising, Governance/Nominations, Research and Finance
Gerstein Centre is committed to equity principles and hopes to broaden the diversity of the Board. We are particularly interested in hearing from individuals who are Black, Indigenous and Persons of Colour and from those with personal experience of the mental health system.
